Donald Trump’s presidential campaign funneled huge amounts of money into Trump’s own businesses – $12.8 million as of Dec. 31, 2016.

Now, he announces he is running for re-election so such payments can continue indefinitely. Usually Presidents announce about a year or two before the election.

Such payments are not illegal, but may be unethical or could be illegal if they exceed fair market value.
